PRONOUNCING THE LONG E SOUND AT THE END OF WORDS: agony, injury

When John was in the car accident on Wednesday, he sustained a serious injury. He was in considerable agony by the time the ambulance arrived.

Quando John sofreu um acidente de carro na quarta-feira, ele sofreu uma lesão grave.  Ele estava em agonia considerável quando a ambulância chegou.

His injury caused him to bleed rather severely, but worse than the bleeding was the amount of agony he was in.

Seu ferimento o fez sangrar bastante, mas pior do que o sangramento foi o grau de agonia em que ele estava.

The EMTs treated his injury and encouraged him that things were going to be OK. Due to the amount of agony he was suffering, he couldn’t imagine that was the truth.

Os paramédicos trataram de seu ferimento e o encorajaram de que tudo ficaria bem.  Devido ao grau de agonia que estava sofrendo, ele não podia imaginar que isso fosse verdade.
