I’m so glad you’ve found brasilianheart! I’ve been blessed to have so many passions in my life including Jesus Christ, my friends and family, my nursing career, and now a community of Brazilian learners. I love meeting and welcoming you, another member of this learning family. I’m here to help you pursue a deeper understanding of communication in American English.
On this journey through English learning, you’ll meet with me, and my dear friends Dirant and Ligia. We all count on one another daily to help learners walk the same path we’ve walked and share our knowledge to help you avoid some of the pitfalls.
If you’re like so many who have learned the ins and outs of English grammar, yet feel as if the words you know are flying away every time you speak to a native English speaker, we’re looking forward to sharing with you the joy of relaxing and learning. Let’s get to it, shall we? Então vamos la!

My name is Dirant. I’m from Minas Gerais State.
English has always been one of my passions in life. I’ve liked and related to American and British culture since I was a little child, but I only started studying English seriously 11 years ago.
In the beginning, I started studying on my own, researching on the internet, through several different channels that provided English lessons for free.
That’s when I happened to cross paths with someone who would turn out to be one of my best friends: Sally Moore, or as I enjoy calling her most…Hoosier.
Since then we’ve been exchanging information about both English and Portuguese, and more importantly, increasing our friendship.
My advice to all those of you who have been struggling with English is as follows: NEVER GIVE UP!!!
It takes time and patience to become fluent, but if you are persistent enough, you’ll eventually reach your goal! Believe you me!

My name´s Lígia.
A long time ago when I realized that through speaking another language, I might be truly free to fly out and be in touch with other people and cultures around the world, it was just the prompt I needed to start my pleasant, long journey through the English language and culture. I graduated from English Language and Literature University, worked in several multinational companies, and started teaching years ago.
I remember telling some youngsters who were still not sure about what course to apply to, “Study the English language or any other language you feel comfortable with, because in any field in global communication, it will have a significant impact on your career. Be ahead.”
My daughter was one of those youngsters. She has been living and working in London for 10 years now!
During my runs over the internet, searching for websites to practice English, I met my dear friend and special teacher Sally Moore, whom I admire for her patience and eagerness to learn Portuguese. This has never faded along the way – I must remind you that Portuguese is not as easy as English!
Honestly, I hope my journey will never end. I believe that there is always much more to come, to learn and to practice!!
